At just 22 years old, Makiah Shipp is a passionate children's book author and the proud owner of Makiah's Bookshelf, a business dedicated to spreading the love of literacy and self-empowerment. Her mission takes her to schools and learning centers where she inspires young minds through engaging stories and activities.

Her journey as an author began at 20 with the release of her first book, Makiah's Show and Tell, a story that celebrates the uniqueness and confidence of young girls and their natural hair. In 2024 she published her second book, Makiah 4 President, continuing her mission to inspire the next generation of leaders.
